modify css menu to tigra style drop down menu

Hi All,
  Reasonly I'm using cms made simple to build a content-centric site,I wish to build a left navigation menu having the effect of tigra menu. I look at the css_menu that comes with the version 1.0 and try to customized it but fail. Anyone has any hints? The dynamic drop down effect is so popular, I guess it might be better to write a module on it also. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    This demo's root level is horizontal, I wish to make it all vertical. I also wish I can modify the width of each level.
