Page creation/update now failing

Something very strange happened today with our CMSms install.

When we try and add or update pages the cms just times out, along the lines of ...

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 45 seconds exceeded in /www/lib/adodb_lite/adodbSQL_drivers/mysql/mysql_driver.inc on line 536

We managed to update and create pages yesterday and this morning okay, I'm really not sure what happened here, or whats the best way of fixing it, as we are unable to edit any pages. I'm not the one actually edit these pages, that lies with our HR department but they assure me that no errors came up before this happened.

Any ideas?

Looking closer into this and the page listing in the admin, listcontent.php, the page variable in the link to edit the page is now blank. Would this be causing the problem?

When on this page the hidden form element, page is blank and so is serialized_content.

I'm nor sure why this would be happening, any ideas?
