Problem with captcha

I installed captcha and comments. When a captcha picture is created, it can't be dispalyed. The permissions of the files in the cache is rw-r----- or 640, and the error I get in the browser is

"You don't have permission to access .../tmp/cache/b2evo_captcha_dac0e6da4803a4860ed45ddbf98640ac.jpg on this server."

I can't open the picture directly in the browser, but i can download it from ftp and see the picture.

I have chmod the cache folder to 777, but all the new created captcha pictures are still rw-r----- or 640. So i can't use captcha.

How can I solve the problem?

(I think if I can change someting in the phph code to make it set the new created captcha pictures readable in browser, the problem is resolved.)
