Could somebody describe how the Menu system works?(1.06b) I do not understand the concept.
I made copy a standard templete 'left simple navigation + 1 column' and saved it as 'battymenu' and entered '{menu template='battymenu.tpl' collapse='1'}
I get lots of smarty errors.
if i import the menu into the Menu Manager i get similar errors.
The errors are multiple errors but mainly relate to not being able to find the template!
I would appreciate any help as I am now totally confused!
I am relatively new to CMS (and most thing web based) but am astounded as what CMSMS can do - You all really have produced a classic!!!

When you make a template just call the name of it with out .tpl ...
{menu template='battymenu' collapse='1'}
{menu template='battymenu' collapse='1'}

I had already tried this with exactly the same results. So! I copied ALL the templates and stylesheets from a new installation and got the very same errors. To make sure I did it all again and confirmed that I had a problem. I have now re installed the whole site (including a new db) it appears to work
I also read the Menu manager help again and again and understand it a little better. I am changing the defauly stylesheet for the menus to show as buttons - This I have managed except thatI cannot get it to show the current selected menu - I'm pressing on.
The only other thing is how do I create a box, same colour as the buttons, to surround the menu to give the effect of a panel?
Considering that I new nothing about cms or html until somel weeks ago I am advancing in leaps and bounds - testiment to CMSMS
