Smartforms change sender to user provided name

Hello,

I'm using SmartForms for an enquiry form and wanted to check if it is possible to set/change the "From Name" using the name provided on the form. I understand that this was a Feature Request for CGBetterForms that wasn't going to be actioned but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to work around this. For my use case, I only need to set the "From Name" the email itself can be sent using the Mail Settings.

I've tried using a variable (which is set on form submission) as the "From Name" on Mail Settings but it doesn't process smarty tags.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
