stubborn 'unable to load template' error

Post by dlen »

dear forists,

cmsms ver 2.2.21, php ver 8.3

I deleted a page template used for the working design, (to try and force cmsms to use the new design, but this is not of importance.)
Of course the error message appeared:

ERROR at line 196 of file /home/www/lib/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php:
ERROR MESSAGE:Unable to load template 'tpl_top:2'

As I had saved the html/smarty code, I re-created the missing template as it had been before and assiciated it with the working design. Everything looke fine except the pesky error message keeps coming. Of course I oftenly deleted cmsms and browser cache.

It is almost as if the system is ignoring change on the backend template administration and keeping on doing what it always did.

any hints welcome.

I have a database backup from a couple of day ago, but as there had been some changes, I' like to solve the issue without using the backup.

thx

This seems similar to your other post: viewtopic.php?p=351436

My suggestion would be to also try changing the template to a different template, even a very basic functional one, to see if the error goes away.

It sounds like a very frustrating error. Will try to help if I can.

If you can't edit the page to select a new template, you can use the bulk editor to change it without opening a page. Select it with the checkmark in Content Manager, then choose "set template and design" in the bottom dropdown.
