File/folder problem

I'm having a weird problem with newer, downloaded files.

If you upload a file or create a folder with the file manager, it will not be found via the ftp connection, and vice versa. Changes made with Ftp cannot be found in the file manager.
Older files are displayed and found.
Where would it be wrong ??

My first guess:

You're connecting to the wrong (FTP) server or directory.
Maybe the site has been moved (by the hosting provider).

Upload a file to the root of the website and see if you can browse to it (using an internet browser).
