Aaargh Clear Cache...what the ...!!!

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the cache....is it always a problem for other people??

This is my first cmsmadesimple site and I hope it wont be the last but just recently I cant view a page unless I clear the cache. If I try to reload it gets progressively worse until theres a blank white page.

Can you turn it off??? Ive already moved servers because the old one was too slow and now this. I havnet had a problem for awhile - its just popped up in the last few days.

Anybody, please help...have I got my permissions ( cache folder) wrong??? [777]

What are the permissions on the tmp/templates_c?  What do you mean by progressively worse?  Less and less content shows up unil there is nothing?

templates_c permission is 755....should it be 777?

Yes, it starts showing all the page - hit refresh - shows pages without pics - next refresh shows perhaps menu bar - next refresh shows white blank page

actually Ive just played with permission on all the temp folders and it didnt seem to make a difference.

Now the pages have gone completely blank - seems if theres too much activity ie. refreshing it just packs it in.....now stuck on a white page and no matter how many cache clears it does nothing.....white page only.

this is so disappointing...ive spent a considerable amount of time on this site and just at the finish mark this happens
As I said Ive had this problem before and a simple clear cache got rid of it. Ive also moved servers as the catalog thumbnails werent loading on a slower server.... Im assuming its a server thing again since both seperate installs are affected.

please, please I need a solution...cant you just turn off caching??? ( I know Ive read in previous posts it would be a core hack - but if possible could someone have a go, theres been a few people with similar problems so a soultion is probably needed)

for some insane reason - unbeknownst to anyone - it is working now...no need to clear cache.
