Web statistics :: FIXED!!

Post by WebGirl »

Hi there,

I am just setting up my first CMSMS site and learning learning learning!

I need to put my web statistics code on the pages, and so I have started placing the javascript in the :

Content | Pages | Options | Metadata field

... but I wondered if there's an easier way to add the code to every page like a Global Setting somewhere?

==> solved my own question!  I went to :

Site Admin | Global Settings | Global Metadata

and pasted the javascript, then put these tags around the code:  {literal} {/literal}

Works perfectly!  ;D

Another way to do this is using a global content block, which you insert into your templates.

Thanks WebGirl I just tried it your way and it worked for me too.  I tried the global content in the templates but this didn't work, the actual code showed up on the web page as text.  Decided with the global setting, that way I don't have to add to each template (I've got a few).
Thanks for sharing your advice.  ;D
