Clicking on navigatiuon menu results in blank pages

Hi, I have a site up and working for some weeks but now a problem has developed for no apparent reason. The site opens up OK but when a navigation link is pressed the site crashes and you only get blank pages. The error message is string(118) "Smarty error: problem creating directory '/hsphere/local/home2/lattonsocialservices.com/tmp/templates_c/%%D8'" string(118) .
Any suggestions on how to resolve the problem would be appreciated.

This problem has rectified itself somehow - I dont know what happened but it is working now. - Pat
