server move issue

Post by lennon »

Hi I've a site setup using 0.13.

All was well until the hosting company moved the site. The problem I'm getting is when I go to log in.

I get this:

Warning: Unknown(): open(/tmp/php_sessions/sess_9a76046c15ae6d946cc11804879408b3, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp/php_sessions) in Unknown on line 0

I'm totally lost here. Can anyone please help?

When I go to tmp/ there is no php_sessions folder there?

Any help would really be appreciated

Thank you.

Have you checked to make sure your chmod/permissions on those files/folders are still the same as before?

I think it is the cache thingy. It has to be deleted and cleared out. You might well get blank pages but that maybe to do with the paths in your congfig file changing or the stuff for your database. (Is the dataabse still the same? Can you see the database in something like PHP Admin - or whatever your host lets you use for database management.

Hope this helps.

I tried getting rid of the contentcache.php altogther and everything went blank. I checked the config and all seems well. Im actaully looking at it via the IP address at the moment as Im waiting for DNS propegation and the site to go live.

So the config is pointing to the IP rather than a www.dsfdsfasdfsdafa.blah I don't think this is the issue...?

There were also two other files:

LogUpload.txt and LogBrowser.txt I changed these values to the IP address too.

I'm really up S**T creek with this one.

If I install the template folder again and delete all thats there will I lose any data? I.E Is the template info all in that folder and not in the database.

If you are talikng about Templates like the default ones they are stored in the DB.

I too would be talking to my host provider as you had a working site till they moved it and any good provider should not mess with your web site w/o expecting to fix these kinds of problems.

Cheers guys.

Thanks for all the help. I know what my hosting company would say - they plead ignorance.

Was a complete nightmare the site name was in loads of press releases for today. I had to save all the html, strip the code of errors and put us as a static!
