The sub menu uses the subs from the top menu, say you have 'home' 'services' 'products' 'gallery' 'contact' in the top menu when you click on 'products' and it has 'widgets' 'widget2' 'widget3' as sub pages they should show up in the sub menu if the top menu page has no subs then the submenu shows nothing like 'Home" which usually has no pages under it.

1. Home  level 1
2. Products  level 1
2.1 Widgets  this is start_level='2'
2.2 Widget2
2.3 Widget3
3. Gallery        level 1
3.1 Images of Widgets  this is start_level='2'
3.2 Images of Widget2
3.3 Images of Widget3

etc. etc.

If you take out the collapse='1' the sub menu will show all sub pages for all top menu pages.

Ah ofcourse.......I wanted the topmenu for some basic information. Among a home tab there should be a company profile and a contact page. Sidebar menu would have to show products services and a gallery, all collapsable. Think I'm gonna play around with this a bit and see what I can do ;-)

Hi everyone,

I've just done my very first CMSMS install and it was painless, I was fearless, and I even uploaded a new template [Panoramica] to the home page of the generic install - woohoo!  The only things I had to change during the install was the Host and Database name - my server is rather specific and provides the 'prefix' for the database.

So - I managed to change the home page text [VERY EASILY] and selected the new Template, and published it - BUT - I got the same 'smarty' msg as Jan_hut - not sure what is meant by 'renaming the template' but it's obviously simple.  :)

hate it when that happens..... >:(
love it when the solution it's as easy as renaming a template ;-)
Can anyone point me in the right direction to make this line of smarty text disappear off the top of my new website?  I tried this:
mark wrote: You would go to Layout » Menu Manager here you will see listed the menu templates that have been imported or ones that you've made/customized.

Click the name of the template and it opens a page where you can edit the file, rename it and clcik submit and it should work just fine.
... but in the MENU MANAGER I can see two items in Database Manager:
Panoramica : ellnav-vert
Panoramica : pixalhaushoriz

and don't know what to do next.

Thanks in advance!!!

Menumanager tries to find menu template named "pixalhaushoriz" and fails to find one.

go in layout -> menumanager -> and copy file template to db template with that name.

OR

check the template and change the menumanager call to use one of the file templates already defined.

mark might know better which template he used in that template.

hope this helps

... but in the MENU MANAGER I can see two items in Database Manager:
Panoramica : ellnav-vert
Panoramica : pixalhaushoriz
when you get to this point click the Panoramica : pixalhaushoriz, words, it gives you the menu template like a stylesheet or reg. template, in the title box just delete the Panoramica : part and submit now it is renamed  pixalhaushoriz and should work, do the same to the other one.

Excellent Mark! took me less than 60 seconds and now it's fixed!

now I also understand that I can 'attach' this new Template to the current pages, or any new page, one by one!

such great flexibility!

thanks Mark - your help is much appreciated, I'm a very happy girl!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for all the templates, I’m just having a problem which I’m sure will have me branded incompetent immediately (which does save time in the long run…:) but how do I use the non-xml templates?

I have no problems with the xml files, and can use these templates (I think only had one has an xml file – panoramica. How do I use the others? Do I just take your (or whoever designed the page) code and strip out content and add in tags?

Essentially I’m having trouble understanding the menu manger

I’m sure I’ve overlooked something really obvious, but would appreciate any help.

Cheers,

Paul

I was looking around on the site you posted for the xml files for various templates and couldn't find them.  Am I missing something?  I am particularly interested in Andreas03 and some others as well.  Great work btw!

Hi Mark,  :)

I just downloaded two of your templates - NiftyCube.zip and Andreas03.zip

I logged into CMS and Theme Manager, clicked Import and found each one, tried to import, but got this message each time:
Theme Manager
Error!

DTD Version mismatch, cannot import
Am I doing something wrong?  I downloaded CMSMS recently - Version 0.13 - any idea why I can't upload?  Have I done something incredibly dumb? :o
