Help! Cannot edit existing content.
Created a bunch of pages yesterday. Went today to change the content on one of the pages, and I get the editor, but the entire editing area (below the title and category fields) is gray - no HTML editor controls, no content field, nothing. Refreshing the browser does not change anything, and this happens when trying to edit content on any existing page.
Just checked, it is also doing this when I try to add new content. It appears to be getting to the point of loading the HTML editor, and just timing out. Sits there with "transferring data from www.articlemarketingmagic.com..." in the status bar, then just says "done".
I have previously editing an existing page, but cannot get it to work today.
Site is at http://www.articlemarketingmagic.com, still in progress!
Is it me?
Any suggestions?

1. Go to "My Prefs » User Preferences"
2. Next to "Select WYSIWYG to use:", select "None" from the drop-down box.
3. Click the "Submit" button.
4. Now when you edit a page you will be shown the HTML code and the What You See Is What You Get editor (FCKeditor) will not be loaded.
Hope this helps,
Elijah

Re: Help! Cannot edit existing content.
Ok, I managed to turn off the HTML editor and get the content edited, but that is only half the problem. Anyone have any idea what caused the problem in the first place or how to solve it?
Frankly, this CMS won't be much good to my clients if they can't use the WYSIWYG editor, because most of them are pretty clueless about HTML.

I'm not sure what caused your problem. If you wanted to PM me your login info I could try logging in and seeing if I can find the problem.lwheelr wrote: Ok, I managed to turn off the HTML editor and get the content edited, but that is only half the problem. There are two things you could try:
1. Upgrade to the lastest CMSMS 1.0 beta (beta4 should come out tonight). This includes a new version of FCKeditor whichs loads much faster than previous versions.
2. Install a different WYSIWYG editor such as TinyMCE: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/tinymce
See how to install modules here: http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... ns/Modules
Cool, I have 5 sisters and 1 brother.lwheelr wrote: Laura

Re: Help! Cannot edit existing content.
This happened to me, and I can't recall exactly how I fixed it (sorry!) but it was something specific in Internet Explorer, and it worked fine in Firefox. It's a JavaScript error, definitely.

Re: Help! Cannot edit existing content.
Actually, I've been using Firefox. It is not unusual for Firefox to have problems with online HTML editor interfaces, but it worked fine while I was creating the pages the first day, just went off the second day when I tried to make changes.
I'll try installing a different WYSIWYG editor and see if I can get one that is stable - not sure I want to have to upgrade the CMS yet.

Hello
I have the same problem. I think it's problem of Firefox 1.5.0.6 in my case. In IE it's fine.
It's happend in version 0.13 and in 1.0 beta4.
The Firefox was yesterday automaticly updated.

I am having the same problem on Firefox using CMSMS Beta 1.0.4. Works fine in IE. Any further thoughts out there?
