Sub Gallery Templates

We are use CMSMS V 2.1.6. and Gallery 2.2

The question is can the sub galleries have a different template to the parent.

We have set the page to {Gallery dir="2016" template="Lightbox-page"}

But if we then set the sub galleries to template Lightbox-sub it appears to have no affect and still controlled by the template for the page.

What are we doing wrong?

I think if you want to use different templates, you should not use the template parameter in the smarty tag, but only set the desired template in the (sub)gallery itself.
