Hi all,
sorry if this is already somewhere on the forum, but couldn't find an answer.
i backed up my database.
cleared cache and downloaded all CMSMS files.
loaded database to new server
installed cmsms without "create tables" active. so no new tables where written to the database.
updated config.php with values.
problem 1: i cant login to the admin site. it says wrong password or username.
2 when i go to the frontend, it says: no such file or directory on this server.
i am strugling now for 4 days, and gave it up.
maybe somebody can help me, or explain me what the heck is going wrong?
thanks so much for your help

Why didn't you just copy the files from your download to the new server.i backed up my database.

Unless know exactly what you're doing I guess it's not a good idea to use the existing database on a new install.
Re: moved CMSms to other server....fail
i followed instructions on the dutch version of the forum.
they said not to use the create new tables option, but use the old DB that worked with the site.

Re: moved CMSms to other server....fail
Better use the official documentation: https://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/moving
Re: moved CMSms to other server....fail
The docs is talking about recreating the config.php file I assume.
(like viewtopic.php?f=52&t=45559 in Dutch)
Please check the database if the old database tables *are* imported in the new server!!
If not, you get the behavior you talk about... (been there)
Note: this is for *old* CMSMS versions!

i have the old databse imported in the new.
no problems there

Re: moved CMSms to other server....fail
Let me say this: you can NOT use a database from an old CMSMS install (older version) in an newer version CMSMS install. Just don't do it, whatever you've read somewhere.
Copy the files from the 'old' server to the new one. Bring up CMSMS and then follow the documented upgrade path to get to the latest version.
