Web site missing chunks of info after moving hosting company

I have many CMS Made Simple web sites I am migrating from one hosting company to another.

I generally change the database connection strings and home paths in config.php.

For some sites I have to recreate empty tmp/cache and tmp/templates_c directories and give them 777 permissions.

This fixes maybe half the sites, but there are still sites that come up with content missing. Is there somewhere else I need to change paths?

Some modules might need an manual intervention of which LISE (or LI2 in the past) is one. It has a button 'Rescan field definitions' (or something similar).

Possibly CGSmartImage cache should be emptied once.
