Hi all ,
Could the module builders give us ignorant new users a clear indication of which version of CMSMS that their module will work on . For example the way Firefox does theirs .
Because CMSMS is going through a new version , a lot of the modules ( I assume ) , will not work with the new version . There are some of the modules that I would like to try out , but am a little nervouse to try them , due to my lack of knowledge at this stage .
Many thanks , and keep up the good work . Because of CMS and the module builders , you have given someone like me a chance to do some web building , without you bloke's , I would not be attempting this , because I do not have the time to study HTML , etc , etc . Except to do a 'learn' as I go .
Many thanks again , and have a good day .
DA

The Forge does not give an easy way to tell which version the module works on. Sometimes the release notes will tell.DA wrote: Could the module builders give us ignorant new users a clear indication of which version of CMSMS that their module will work on . For example the way Firefox does theirs .
You can see a list of the modules that work with CMSMS 1.0 by going to "Extensions -> Module Manager" in the Admin Panel and clicking on the various letters.DA wrote: Because CMSMS is going through a new version , a lot of the modules ( I assume ) , will not work with the new version . Hope this helps,
Elijah

Hi Elijah ,
Sorry for my late reply . Yes that does help a lot actualy and is a good idea , and takes the guesswork out of it also .
The modules in there are basically ' approved ' modules ?
Many thanks again

Re: Module - CMSMS version
Not really "approved" by anyone (except the developer), but they have been exported into the CMSMS 1.0 format by the developer and are intended to be run using CMSMS 1.0 so you shouldn't have problems with them unless you find a bug in the module.DA wrote: The modules in there are basically ' approved ' modules ?

The ModuleManager automatically shows all the Modules that have an CMSMS 1.0 XML install file available for download in the Forge.

Hi Elijah ,
Ok , thanks for the information .
My concern was as before , maybe some mistakes in the coding in the module that would allow hackers a doorway into the site .
Have a good day
