Form Builder without CMSMailer?

Post by michaywood »

I have installed Form Builder (which required CMSMailer) on my new install of CMSMS 2.1.5. I can't find CMSMailer anywhere in the admin menu to adjust it's settings and my form is erroring out every time I try to submit it. I can go to Settings - Global Settings > Mail Settings and get it to send a test email, but it doesn't help the front-end form submissions.

1) Is there a setting to make CMSMailer show up in the menu so I can adjust it's settings?

2) Is there a way or alternate module to Form Builder that doesn't rely on CMSMailer since it is deprecated?

update. uninstalled Form Builder and CMSmailer, then reinstalled CMSmailer and it showed up in the admin dashboard now. then reinstalled Form Builder and it showed up. Guess it did something weird when I tried installing Form Builder and it auto-installed CMSmailer. This at least appears to be working now.

But still leaves question #2. Any ideas? Hate to get comfortable in the CMSmailer setup and it be removed in future builds since deprecated.

In CMSMS 2.x CMSMailer is a wrapper around the (now) core native library. This means that whatever setting you have set on the CMSMS email configuration are the ones used by Modules still using CMSMailer.

IDK, however Form Builder dependency on CMSMailer was meant to keep backward compatibility. Future releases will drop the dependency as CMSMS 1.x will end shortly.
All this has been answered already way too many times and a forum search would have revealed all the info you needed...
