Default page not visible

Post by blackrain »

this is bending my brain somewhat, I have be working on a site, I have added content, made templates, even added forms. then after a bug in ListIt2 (fixed now) caused the module listing to fail to load properly, the homepage no longer loads at all, it just blank this is the first time it has happened and I am lost in a sea of code, please help.

upgrading to version 2 is not an option due to time constraints and I need to get my head round the new version anyway.

thanks

A blank/white page is mostly an error 500, check your servers error logs

this does not appear to be a 500 error as no error is thrown and the index.php page shows the correct content.

also the other pages show up correctly using pretty urls so that part of the system seems to be working correctly.

at a loss on this one!

What homepage?

index.php shows correct content? So what does not? the default url without index.php?

Don't tell me you have an empty index.html in the root of your website ;D

The url http://www.example.dev/index.php shows the homepage content as expected, even when I check the default page (green tick) on any page, that content shows up.

The url http://www.example.dev shows a blank page, no html no nothing and no error in the log file

its the craziest issue i have ever seen and never experienced it before.

I have cleared the cache, repaired the Db, optimised Db pulled my hair out and even sworn a lot :(

Did you check for the index.html file in the web root?

What if you rename .htaccess? Does a default page show up then?

Maybe you want to share the real url?

##Palm placed on my forehead with great force##

how the hell did that one get there?

@velden you are the dev (god) many thanks for pointing out what should have been obvious.

I will add that to my ever increasing list of 'check before panicing'

many thanks
