Cms 2.1.2 embed tag

Post by NsptDevil »

Hi!

New install - busy moving html site . . .
One page have a external page display.
According to http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/tags/cmsms-tags/embed:

Error: at line 1 in file /home/vdwesthu/public_html/lib/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatecompilerbase.php:
Message:
Syntax error in template "content:content_en" on line 1 "
{embed url=http://www.domain.org}
" unknown tag "embed"

-I tried various suggestions - don't seem to get help on the embed tag specifically to CMSMS 2.
-I do not have a function.embed.php in my public_html/admin/plugins as mentioned somewhere else?
-Apprentice knowledge applicable . . . ???

Please explain or refer, how to get a external page within a CMSMS page.

I added {embed header=true} into the metadata section in the options tab of a content page.

Well, if the tag isn't in the install (and it is not in my test setup) you can't use it.

This might not be helpful but trying different parameters and such on a non-existent tag is kind of waste.

YES!!
That is what I thought and mentioned:
"-I do not have a function.embed.php in my public_html/admin/plugins as mentioned somewhere else?"
I tried a CMSMS ver.1.x function.embed.php in the plugin dir but no luck.
Any solution please?
Either a ver2 function.embed.php download/install or another way?

I'm not sure what you are trying to embed but maybe something as simple as a UDT called: embed

Code: Select all

// embed UDT
if (isset($params['url']))
    {
        $url = trim($params['url']);

        return '<__iframe src="$url" width:99%;></__iframe>';
    }
style the iframe using CSS, ref: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp
(Note: remove the __ from the iframe tags!)

Hope it helps

It should probably go in public_html/plugins/ do that it would be available to be placed in FE pages.

Thanks for your help!
Unfortunately I made a decision - CMSMS is not doing it for me.
