Can't load Module from xml ......

Hi,

I'm using CMSMS 0.13 on BSD (don't know apache versions as its a hosted system) and PHP 4.

I can load any modules using xml.  I've ensured the required permissions (777) on the modules folder but keep getting the following error message:

  DTD Version missing or incompatible XML

Any idea's what might be causing this?

Hello, it looks like the module versions you tried work only on 1.0. It seems module developers have to publish different .xml files for the 0.13 and 1.0 series.
Did you try Album-0.6.0.xml? That worked for me: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/frs/downlo ... -0.6.0.xml

XML files created in the 1.0 series are incomaptible with those created in the 0;.13 series.  so if you're using CMS 0.13 you'll need to ensure that the XML files you download are intended to be compatible with CMS 0.13.  Hopefully it says somewhere on the forge which version is which.

thanks for the quick response.  I've now upgraded to 1.0beta2, however I'm now getting the error 'Error parsing XML file', any idea's on this one?

Which XML file?  if it's not listable in the module manager, then it's probably not compatible.

I'm trying to upgrade NMS to 1.0 beta.  I might be getting this all wrong!  I thought you could browse an xml file from my winXP pc and it would upload onto my hosted (BSD) cms system?  Am I getting this all wrong?

It's correct you can install an xml file from you PC from the Modules admin. NMS-1.0-beta1 doesn't install on cmsms-1.0-beta2, but NMS-1.0-beta5 does overhere.
If you're using cmsmadesimple-1.0-beta2 you can also download the xml files and upload them in one step with Module Manager (in the Extensions menu). If a module xml isn't listed there it's (probably) not compatible.
