CGBlog feed broken after adding new categories? [solved]

Post by yayawatson »

Hi. I'm running CMS Made Simple 1.12.

I'm using CGBlog 1.12.10 to maintain a news website.

When I add blog entries, they no longer show up on the site. They don't show up in any of the summary feeds on the home page, or on the pages set up to display summary feeds by category.

On the admin side, everything looks correct with the new blog entries - Status: Published, Post Date: today, Use Expiration Date: unchecked

Everything had been working fine before. However, I recently added new Categories and rearranged their order. So I suspect that may have something to do with it? That's the only think I can think of.

Wondering if I missed a needed step after creating new categories. Have tried searching on this topic and unable to find the answer.

Thank you!

The categories are names like:

Culture
Economy
Education
Health

Some of the new categories I created did include special characters, specifically parenthesis and quotation marks.

The blog feeds on our site are working again. I wish I could explain why they stopped working and what fixed it, in case it happens again. But for now I'm good, so I guess I will mark this as solved.

Thanks!
