Is it possible to move client site from Development site?

Hi there,

I hope this is the right place to post this 

I've just downloaded CMSMS and am overawed by all the great forum posts and fabulous websites I've seen designed and showcased here - and I'm looking forward to creating my own new websites with this tool.

My question is this - I usually design a client site in a subdirectory on my server, and never copy or launch it on their domain name until it's paid for.  This practice came after years of trial and error.

With CMSMS, can I do the same? If I design the site on one of my servers, can I then simply install CMSMS on client's hosting space and copy the new website over?

Any tips/tricks greatly appreciated.

The short answer : yes.

It's how most of us do it, and how, in my opinion, everybody should do it.

Don't forget to transfer the database.

I knew there'd be a catch!

I haven't ever transferred a database before ... what do i need to do, to do that?

or are there instructions in the wiki?

A way to do it, I will add that I install all modules that are on test site in new site first so they have something to relate to before move, there is another method, second link down, I've not tried it though.
