Banners Module - How to use it?

Post by FCazabon »

Hi,

I'm trying out the Banners Module version 2.7 on my CMSMS version 1.11.13 without any success.

The module is installed and Going into the Manage Banners option I have added a Category called "Left Container" and set the default image to "images/Left Container Banners/PAVI Poster 1-01.jpg". What do I put in as the default URL and the Template? I've left both blank.

I have also added a Banner, given it a name and description and set the image to "images/Left Container Banners/PAVI Poster 1-01.jpg". What do I set as the URL here? I have it set to "mywebsite.org".

In my page I have put this in the content: {Banners category="Left Container"}

but nothing shows up on the page.

Any help appreciated.

My guess is you might need to check the dates "Expires" (needs to be in the future) and "Start Date" (needs to be in the past) in your banner.

Sorry for the late reply, I did not get an email notification that someone had replied.

Those dates are in the past and future. Any other ideas?

If I inspect the source of the page I seenothing in the area where I put the smarty tags {Banners category="Left Container"}. Is that to be expected?

I don't know the module but curious if the category name is valid. Because it has a space in it.

You might test with a simple, lowercase category name. Or if the categories have aliases too then use the alias.

I use it with different cases, upper/lower/spaces etc. and it works fine...

{Banners category="658 x 100 Banner"}

When you fill out the banner do you use every input or ..?

I've filled in a value on every textbox on the Manage Banners page, see the attached screenshot
