Unable to disable thumbnail creation from image/file manager

Hi all

I am seeing an issue where I am unable to disable the creation of thumbnails for each image as it is uploaded to the site.

When I go to Image Manger, upload the .jpg file and then go to the File Manager I can see that the image has been uploaded as image01.jpg and that a small thumbnail image has also been created called thumb_image01.jpg The thumb image has been resized to 96x96px. I do not want or need these images so want to stop their creation.

I have looked in File Manger > Settings and have set the "Create thumbnails on upload" to "No". I have also unchecked the "Show thumbnails" checkbox. To be doubly sure these are set correct I have switched them to true, saved the settings, and then gone back in and set them again and saved and it still doesn't make a difference - each new image uploaded has a thumb file created with it.

I do not know if this part is relevant or not, but in CGExtensions module, under graphics settings at the bottom Thumbnailing is set to "no" also.

Perhaps someone could tell me if I'm missing something....

AFAIK there is no option in image manager to disable generation of thumbnails.
The file manager settings apply only to file manager, and not to image manager.

Ah ok, my mistake then, I thought the two were linked

So I guess my option would be to use the File manager to upload the images and then the relevant settings will take effect.

I never use (or show clients how to use) the Image Manager editing facilities anyway so perhaps I could just disable it.

Also, Image Manager no longer exists in the soon-to-be-released CMSMS 2.0. Try it. You'll like it.
