[Solved] Gbook: Some issues

Post by Trenia »

Hi
I just installed the very nice Gbook module but are having some issues with a couple of things.

1. Trying to add some other smileys through upload function, but nothing there afterwards. Doesn`t help to add them directly into the smileys folder either. Am I missing something or is this a known issue? Clues?

2. I made a CSV-file of my old guestbook submissions and imported them into Gbook... it worked but names and titles have a lot of **** after them. What is causing this and can I get rid of them?

Thanks :)

Gbook 2.0
Cmsms 1.11.11
Php 5.4.38

I think the ***** are caused by the bad-words filter. Maybe there is a space in the filter textarea. Please try to fill in one non-excisting word.

I will look into the adding smileys issue.

I managed to get rid of the asterics (****). I had an "$" in the bad words filter. I wanted to prevent spammers posting buying-offers for whatever product they sell, hence the $.

Regarding smileys... what dimensions (height/width) are acceptable? Any limits for that?

I don't think dimensions matter, but there isn't any resizing. Have to look into it.. Might be a bug

Don't mix up spam with bad words.. the spam-protection will prevent that unwanted messages are being displayed.

Thank you.

I believe I have discovered another bug. I have translated the language file into norwegian (exept the "help" section) and uploaded it to my lang/ext/ folder, but no changes in Gbook.

To get access there, you follow these steps:

2) Log in at the Forge http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/
3) Go find the projectpage of your language: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/norwegian-bm
4) Hit the link: Request To Join Project

Wait for the projectadmin to respond. If it takes you to long, you can PM reneh on this forum.

Hi. I did what you said in the previous post and I am now a part of the project, but I am not able to log into the Translation Center. No problems logging into the Forge though. I would like to share my norwegian language file, even if I can`t make it work on my installation. The other lang files are working though.

When you are done and saved your translation, you can fetch the translationfile here: http://svn.cmsmadesimple.org/svn/transl ... /lang/ext/

It will automatically be included in next releases of the module.

I never translate that. To much work and hard to maintain... I looked into other languages, none translates this. Perhaps only for the developers own language.

In my own modules I hardcode the help text in English and Calguy also does it now.
