file manager creating too many connections

i have upgraded a couple of my sites to the latest version, but i still use tinymce.

every time im in the admin, and try to upload an image in tinymce, using the file manager, i get kicked out of the server.

rang the host up, they said that the website made over 500 individual connections, which is why i was kicked out. has anyone had this problem?
