Beta3, Listit2 and GBFilePicker... and the future.

The place to talk about things that are related to CMS Made simple, but don't fit anywhere else.

Beta3, Listit2 and GBFilePicker... and the future.

Post by jack4ya »

These are the modules I use most. And intensive...
However, they are not maintained and developed anymore.

Are there any plans on this? Are there alternatives?
Maybe for Beta2, but that seems to be in beta forever.

This information is key for me to decide what to do. Stick to CMSMS are start looking for alternatives.

Don't get me wrong, I still love CMSMS, but it seems to come to a slow but grinding halt.

So yes... An unstable beta and an unstable module.
The same info I already had.
It is still advised against using it in a live environment?
Have ppl tried it? Maybe for smaller projects?

Other cms use php for custom listings and pages.
I like smarty better.

I've tried the core beta (which is looking great) but not easylist yet. I am sure the developers working on it would be very grateful for others to test and feedback their findings.

My Bad... Beta3.... but still a loooooooooong time. ;)

I will try out the Beta3 soon, I've been messing with WP, CC5 and others anyway. Might add it too the list as well. I still fly with CMSMS and struggling with the others, but to be honest, that's just learning curve. But they have a wide spread document base.

Have tried Beta3...

Well... First I though I was in my wrong subdomain.
But no, I have to admit, a bit dissappointed.
Maybe I expected too much. (Next stop for me, reading up on Beta3.)
It has it advantages... No new learning curve. :!:

I installed EasyList... it has the same flaws as Listit2 has. Pity.
Even more: when creating categories as a field, it completely goes haywire.

Btw, I found the segregation of templating more confusing than it was before. Sticking the templates to the modules themselves, saves me from going back and forth when modifying the module (and thus templates.)

And where is the image manager / media manager / library-preview-sort-of-module?

I know image manager was problematic, but there surely must be an alternative?

GBFilePicker... Will it be forked?
The common file picker is pretty useless for images.
