Is there a way to get a user to fill in only the username and password of a form, and then validate their details and then complete the rest of the form after validating themselves. This would be ideal for larger forms with 10 or more fields which require filling in.
Has anyone done this or would anyone with experience using these modules have the answer for me?

You would have to present only the fields you want, username and password then after verified they can log in and use the "Change My Settings" link to fill the rest of the fields, as long as they are NOT set as required...
