--Add Me - and Smarty Error

--Add Me-
I've noticed this kind of thing posted before, but this is different. 

In my case, only modules show as --Add Me - --Add Me - module:FCKeditorX string:friendlyname--  or --Add Me - --Add Me - module:News string:news-- for all parts set by language files.  I have set default language in My Prefs -> User Preferences to English, and have reuploaded all language files for modules.  No luck.
This happens in both FF and IE.

Smarty Error
On the Homepage of my site I see

.  No content follows, and execution stops.
Again, FF and IE.

sounds like you have some corrupted files, did you try uploading all files again? (well dont want to overwrite config.php
