News Module Expiration date.

Post by gabeo »

CMS Made Simple version 1.11.11
PHP version 5.4.27
MySQL version 5.5.37-cll
Apache version 2.2.27
Operating system Linux
News Module

Hello, I just did a full update to CMS and have a few glitches.

1. News Module - When you add a new article and click the Expiration Date, no date is there to set. You have to close the article and then go back into it to see the expiration dates. It will then show the Start/End dates. Is this normal? The expiration dates were there before the update.

2. The following warning now shows when adding a new article in News. It appears to just be a warning but I wanted to make sure so that I can set my client's mind at ease.
"Warning: This preview panel behaves much like a browser window allowing you to navigate away from the initially previewed page. However, if you do that, you may experience unexpected behaviour. Navigating away from the initial page and returning will not give the expected results.
Note: The preview does not upload files you may have selected for upload."

3. In the admin, some links are no longer clickable. For example, the News Module - Detail Templates appears to be a link but will not go anywhere.

Thanks for your time!

No, it's not normal, but I haven't been able to reproduce that behavior. We need more info about that: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... =40&t=2661. Also, please paste your system info: http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/troublesh ... nformation

This is as designed, a warning as to the normal behavior of the preview tab. You can dismiss it by clicking the x.

  • 1st thing that comes to mind: clear CMSMS cache.
  • 2nd thing that comes to mind: read my answer to your 1st question.

Thanks Jo.

Sorry that I just now saw your reply. I never got an email that a reply was made...weird.

A few days after I did a full install of 1.11.11 (and after I made this post) everything seemed to be working again. I had cleared the cache before I posted this error message and that did not work. In the few days after the update, I did not do anything with the site but login and check. Not sure why it took a few days for it to work correctly again. I

All seems well...client has not mentioned anything incorrect.

Thanks for your reply!
