Do you mean a "Previous" or "Next" button to link to the other news articles?
I don't know if the News module has that available. You can try doing an {$entry|print_r} in the the detail template to see what vars are available.
But, CGBlog offers this in the default detail template.

CGBLog works similar to News, maybe with http://www.i-do-this.com/blog/Prev-Next ... -CGBlog/57 you can get same results
