Hacked Server ... changed not being updated

Hey guys, another site on my server compromised the security of the entire server.  All of the sites had the index pages replaced
and ftp disabled for a while yesterday. 

I have just logged in to my admin panel and made some changes to the site and they aren't taking effect.

I was wondering if there was something that I could do on my end to fix this.  Really lost.

Check the permissions on tmp/cache and tmp/templates_c directories.  Make sure they're still 777 or at least writable by the web servier.  Then try clearing the cache from the admin panel.

Thanks Ted.  I tried clearing the cache and the permissions are all set correctly from what I can see. 

I have a support ticket in at my hosting company also. 

Hopefully it is an easy fix.

I need major help. 

My site is back up and the hosting company said that everything is correct on their end.

I checked permissions on all of the required folders and they are correct also.

I just tried to make a small change and am getting errors on my site now.

www.exceptions.com  If someone could look at the site and notice the errors on the right sidebar. 

I am not really sure what my next step should be.  I need to update the gigs for this weekend badly.

Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATE ::
The error messages are gone since I cleared the cache again, but I am back to the old problem of none of the changes taking effect again.  I have made various changes to the homepage nothing ever changes.  Is there anything else that I should check that could be causing this?
