Pretty Url and link hierarchy on CMSMS

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Pretty Url and link hierarchy on CMSMS

Post by kupido »

Hello

I had a question:
i can request my url on two ways
"http://www.xxxxxx.com/question/anycontent.html
and also
"http://www.xxxxxx.com/anycontent.html

"question" is also a content website.("http://www.xxxxxx.com/question.html)

Google means is double Content, thats right two url's for the same content

My question is how can I prevent that i can reqeuest the url "http://www.xxxxxx.com/anycontent.html?

Is it a setting in CMSMS, that i have not seen?

Thanks
My system is CMSMS 1.11.3

Google will not think of it as double content just because you can type a URL to make it look like double content, all search bots only follow links in page/menus, THEY NEVER MAKE UP URLs TO TEST FOR DUPLICATE CONTENT...

I noticed the same thing with the URL's. I understand that Google will not see this as duplicate content but it's a bit of strange behavior. Is er there anyway to disable this?

I tested a few CMSMS sites and they all do this.

That only means that you don't have canonical URL's properly set on your templates. Search the forums for canonical URL's, check this too: http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/customizi ... timization
And I believe there is some sample template code on the sample Simplex template, if you have it installed together with the sample content...

* by the way: English is NOT my native language (sorry for any mistakes...).
