I am looking at using CMSMS for a voluntary organisation but I have been asked to check how CMSMS deals with multiple editors working at the same time.
If for example I am editing a news report would I then lock other out from editing at the same time?
Multiple editors working on the same site.

Re: Multiple editors working on the same site.
No you would not lock other editors. Which is fine when not working on the same 'object'. However, if multiple editors work on the same object the one that last applies will 'win'.
CMSMS 2.0 - which is in beta now - will take care of that by locking individual objects.

OK, will look at 2.0 when its ready.
The plan is to have multiple editors working on reports, 1 types the initial report, another person checks and edits. Then it goes live.
I have coped in the past with other sites as I was the only editor doing the edits.
Thank you.

Re: Multiple editors working on the same site.
As long as editors don't work on the same item (page, news article) at exactly the same time you'll be fine with the current version. And there will be an upgrade path to version 2.0. I have systems in schools with multiple editors and this issue has never been raised. So don't let it stop you investigating CMSMS.
Also note that CMSMS has good control over what individual editors can and can't do - and if they can't edit something they won't be able to even see it in the admin area.
