Bug or unwanted behaviour: Copying Product Options

After some experimenting I determined that options display in a dropdown in the order they display in the admin screen. This would be easier to manage if there were a re-ordering function on the product options screen.
Since I have six products with the same twelve options, the copy options from [product] function ought to be a major time saver. But it puts the options in a random and unpredictable order - which left me with as much work to manually re-rder them as if I had entered them all by hand in the first place.
