File Manager not working correctly in 1.11.10

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

File Manager not working correctly in 1.11.10

Post by twwitt »

I've installed (or upgraded) to 1.11.10 for numerous sites without much problem. But for one site -- this one hosted at 1and1.com -- I'm having a problem with File Manager in the 1.11.10. After you browse for a file to upload, and then select the file, there is no button marked "Send" or "Select" -- nothing to implement, and no way to upload the file. Image Manager works fine, and certainly I can use FTP to upload files, but want my client to be able to use File Manager.

I'm assuming it's something to do with my hosts settings? Or some configuration problem?

Any ideas?

There is no send or select button. Go to Content -> File Manager -> Upload files tab. When you click "Choose files" button you select a file from your local system (Windows in my case) and then you press the Open button in the file system dialog box. The file is then immediately uploaded (I see a progress bar). Then when you click the File view tab you will see the new file there.

Yes, all of that is familiar, but the progress bar doesn't activate and the file does not upload (but it works fine on another cmsms 1.11.10 site, hosted elsewhere).

Since posting the first time, I have a feeling it's not necessarily related to File Manager itself. There's at least one other feature that does not work well: On OneEleven admin theme, the drop-down/expanding menus on the left do not work either. (File Manager doesn't upload in either OneEleven or NClean theme). Most everything else DOES work, though. Definitely weird.

I had that on my hosting too, when I get host to switch off mod_security it works fine. Perhaps it's that causing both your issues.

1and1.com support people say "it is not possible to disable or turn off mod_security" on shared hosting packages.

Have other people found this to be true?

I don't generally use 1and1.com on new sites any more, but I have several sites that are hosted there and prefer not to have to move them. Am I to assume that they are not an acceptable host any more for CMSMS sites?

Anyone have a solution?
