Note: Being a hack, using that code can prevent support from the Dev Team, on issues resulting from it's use.
However, the cache issue, even though it was triggered by a change in the core, at some point, is a Cataloger issue. I am not the original developer of this module, and don't know exactly what triggered it. The previous fix was not a good one and violated the forge rules.
There are also a few changes needed to be done for Cataloger to be compatible with CMSMS 2.0. I'm not sure if there will be a new Cataloger version for CMSMS 1.11.x, probably not... but next Cataloger version will have that issue properly solved too.
