Cart Module, second attribute for another quantity

Post by Yenky »

Hello all,

googled a lot, but didn't found anything regarding this:

# Module: Cart - A simple example frontend form module
# Version: 1.0, calguy1000 <calguy1000@cmsmadesimple.org>

Task/Problem:
I'm creating a shop for hand made ropes. So there is a second quantitiy to add to the cart for the desired length of the product.

It would be crazy to add an attribute set from 1-100 (or even more) with multiplier to cover length of the rope...
Same issue, if I use the original quantitiy field for this, and add a set of attributes for the quantitiy of ropes to order.

(One Example: A customer wants to buy 100 ropes of 2m length).

I reviewed the code, but there is only the possibility, to add attributes covered by the Products module, as type dropdown.

Is there a way to "expand" functionality for a second type (textfield) for a nother quantitiy? Or is it possible, to add this manually to the template (only on products that have a (Products) Customfield checked?

Any hints or help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jens

Allright.

I did a bypass on this that will work for now, but it would be nice, to get a possibility to add another quantitiy.
