First you really should upgrade to the latest version of CMSMS. Your version is not supported anymore.

I think your issue might be caused by browser incompatibility (IE10/11?). Try another browser like Firefox, Chrome or Safari.

It's a TinyMCE / IE 11 related problem.

The only (official?) way is to force IE to use IE 10 mode via htaccess.
