[SOLVED] CMSMailer set up for Google Apps not working

I spent time with the host's support and finally got someone who knew what to look for... apparently they needed to adjust the firewall config to allow for port 465, as well as add ...
SMTP_BLOCK = 0

... to the config. Don't know if this will help anyone else, but you never know so I am adding it here just in case.

Using:
CMSMS version 1.11.10
Apache version 2.2.26
PHP version 5.4.22
MySQL version 5.5.36-cll
Hosted on KnownHost VPS, using cPanel.

The error message I get is:
"The following From address failed: tents@hendersonvilletents.com"

I had the host check the MX records and other setup, and they agreed that the records were set up correctly. The host looked at it and stated that it did not appear as if the module (CMSMailer) was even contacting the mail server.

I should add that I had the site set up with another host originally and the forms worked fine (using CMSMS 1.11.4), but it had not worked since I moved the site to this new server. Test emails from CMSMailer do not go through either.

Is there a setting in cPanel that might affect this? I could use any ideas you might have to resolve this issue... after 3 days of dealing with it I am all out of ideas.
