Mcfactory install error

Post by nervino »

Hello, I tried to install the latest Mcfactory (3.4.98) with Module manager, but i've got an error. I also tried to manually install Mcfactory and its dependencies (MCFactory 3.4.98, MCFramework 0.0.2, CMSForms 1.10.18) downloading the xml files. MCFramework and CMSForms install is ok, while MCFactory outputs the error:
No file was uploaded. To install a module via XML you must choose and upload an module .xml file from your computer. (empty tmp_name)
Error parsing XML file. Please make sure you are uploading a .xml file and not a .tar.gz or zip file.
I'm using cmsms 1.11.10.

You can download the tar.gz file locally, extract it and upload the McFactory directory to /modules/ on the webserver.

If all went right you can install the module via Extensions -> Modules by clicking 'Install' link behind the module naam.

Thank you Velden.
I can't find the tarball neither in the forge nor in SVN (http://svn.cmsmadesimple.org/svn/mcfactory )...

When download XML file from Forge, be sure you give the file the.xml extension before saving. Then upload in MoMa and install.

Hi Rolf, I did it again for doubt's sake: I downloaded the file with .xml extension but it doesn't install. I just wanted to test this module, that I had heard to be very good, cause I have to do a simple module (a list of items with 2 or 3 fields each).
I guess I'll do it "by hand", as usual...

Thanks

Sounds like you could use ListIt2 module for this...
