I have been trying to upgrade two different CMSMS installs and for both I keep running into the following error:
Fatal error: Class 'news_admin_ops' not found in C:\xampp\htdocs\sandbox\mycmsms\modules\News\News.module.php on line 374
On one of the installs I was able to get past this error by renaming the News folder and running the upgrades up to 1.11.2, I then had to be sure I set my admin to the newer admin template and then copied over the News folder from the full download of 1.11.2.
This seemed to do the trick and I was finally able to complete the upgrade all the way to 1.11.10.
This does not seem to be working for the other install.
Here is the info on that install

Re: Errors from News Mod during upgrade from 1.10.3
Somewhere in the 1.11.x versions before the 1.11.9 release, there was a PHP 5.3 dependency. Not sure if that might be the problem but it was fixed in 1.11.9 and .10.phpversion: 5.2.17
Also, there are several modules that now require PHP 5.3 and that also may be a problem for you. I would upgraded to latest most stable version of php 5.3 as soon as possible. There are lots of improvements and security fixes.

Re: Errors from News Mod during upgrade from 1.10.3
At some point there was a problem with upgrading and News, rename News folder, run upgrade, rename back to News, go to admin > extensions > modules and run upgrade on News if needed...
Re: Errors from News Mod during upgrade from 1.10.3
I was finally able to complete the upgrade. I ended up deleting the News folder completely and uploading a copy from the full 1.11.2 download.
Thanks for the help
