Upgrading from 1.6.6 to latest CMSMS
I know that this upgrade will probably have to be undertaken in 2 steps. To which version would you advise should be the first step?
Thanks

First make a complete backup of your filed and database.

Re: Upgrading from 1.6.6 to latest CMSMS
Thanks. Yes, I know.
However, in the past the advice has been not to make a big jump eg from 1.6x to 1.11x, but to go to a 'halfway' version, if you see what I mean. Hence my question.

Re: Upgrading from 1.6.6 to latest CMSMS
A quick scan, I see a few potential problems:
- PHP is to low in relation to CG's modules, change this after CMS upgrade 1.10.3 (I think). Previous versions will break.
- Album module changed a lot in later releases. Read help text and search forum
- Forum/Tree manager module is abandoned by the developer and forked to JMForum (not compatible I think)
I recommend to do all steps described in http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/upgrading/old-versions
And back-up, back-up, back-up files and database!!

CAVE: CGExtensions needs php 5.3.x
Before proceeding to upgrade to 1.11 read this post from Calguy. His modules require PHP5.3+!
