Email Address Confirm not actually confirming in NMS

I've removed the DEBUG that was showing up, have installed Beta3 of NMS, and the error I am noticing now is that it is not actually confirming the user once they've clicked.  It remains 'no' under 'confirm'.

Also, when you click to confirm it doesn't actually show the unique ID for future reference.  This is what it spits out.

Thank you . Your email address has been marked as confirmed as of 2006-07-07 20:06:49. Your uniquid (for future reference) is

And that's it.  Any suggestions as to what could be going wrong?

Now that I examine that further, the username does not appear either.  Hrmm.... what's wrong?  Anyone else that has installed this experiencing it?

Well, with a quick test in NMS-1.0-beta3 on my 0.13 install I had no difficulties.

I have this tag in my page:

{cms_module module=NMS}

and was able to subscribe with no difficulty.  I also got the confirmation message, and other than the debug statement that I errantly left in there (I'll re-release beta3) everything worked fine.

I would recommend you go into CMSMailer and try out the test function to make sure that you can actually send emails.

Well, I am having the exact same trouble - the confirmationurl is simply wrong as I see it - but even if I change it manually, it doesnt send the comfirmation-email or confirms the user.
the url could look like: http://www.herstedvesterkirke.dk/lexan/ ... 35&page=35
(what is that page=35 - im not using the prettyurl function)
And mind, I recieve the first email so it is not a problem with CMSMailer.

Ive tested on a linux and windows server and neither are sending the Conf-email.

Furthermore it seems that if admin makes a new user and have chosen to send her an email to remind her - well it doesnt either.

You say you made a fresh install and it worked - well I did that too and these things dont work

I do get the first email that requests for them to click confirmation link.  So I don't see how it could be CMSmailler.

The problem is with the fact that it's not actually confirming anything whent hey clcick and follow the link, so Alex must be onto something that the confirmation link has an error... I'm not sure.

All I can say is that if you look at what I pasted above, it doesn't actually fill in some of the stuff that's supposed to get filled in, which must be causing a problem for the confirmation to actually happen.

Okay, I tested twice, once from my local server to a local email address.  I got the confirmation message, clicked on the link and got the success message.

The second one I used my hotmail address, it worked too.

So do you have any idea what it could be that is causing this then?

Two people are experiencing it... is it a problem with our install... I dunno... it would be nice to get working since it's integrated so seamlessly into CMSMS.

Oh well... I guess I pursue another avenue then

calguy1000, can I ask you - what version of NMS are you using?
Im using NMS 1.0beta3 (the files from the other post you made) on a CMSMS 0.13 install with CMSmailer 1.73.9.
Maybe you are using a different version, maybe a csv thing ? Just a thought...

Well...

Ive been going thru desperate times folks

The solution is almost at hand tho, I think...

Apparently its the characterset making trouble - the URL-link NMS makes is coded oddly, '&' is coded '&'... in the confirmmail like:

/index.php?mact=NMS,m4,confirm_email,1&m4uniqueid=f93a773a56b8a51a3cdc2ca02ca32d1c&m4returnid=35&page=35

if I change it manually, the return email is sent allright, and everything is good.

But still, the notification email when admin makes a new user is never sent. (same trouble?)

Also Im having deep trouble with header and body coding when sent - even if I change the characterset to utf-8.

Im from Denmark (as some readers may have noticed) and so need the damn utf-8 thing...

I have been testing with different setups today, but to no avail - can anybody crack this nut ?
