A problem occurred communicating with the module server
Getting this on several sites with 1.11.9. Some of them are ok, and some work part of the time. How do i troubleshoot this?
Re: A problem occurred communicating with the module server
Check system informations - on some hosts outgoing server connections are not allowed (for security reasons).
Re: A problem occurred communicating with the module server
Note that you can install modules manually as a work-around. Also needed if you want to use an older version of a specific module.
Download de module from the forge, extract the download and upload the module's folder to /modules
Then via Menu -> Extensions -> Modules choose 'install' link

My checkmarks are all green, what am I looking for?
I use Virtualmin, so all sites are the same settings server side, and it seams that my sites that I have installed new are working, but the ones that I have had for a long time that have been upgraded are not.

Re: A problem occurred communicating with the module server
Experienced this problem myself today on a site that I had previously downloaded several modules. Refreshed the screen and tried again. All worked

Re: A problem occurred communicating with the module server
I can get it to work randomly if I refresh several times.
The other night I tried several times to manually add the modules and it told me the xml file was not valid.
I refreshed again, connected that time and was able to do it through the module server. I loaded two modules, then tried to do a third, and it said it could not communicate again.

Download the tar.gz-file, expand it on your computer and upload it with FTP into Modules. Activate the module with Modules in the backend.
