News Module Doesn't Handle Links
News Module Doesn't Handle Links
In using the news module, I found that the editor does not allow me to add links to the news artlcle. That seems counter-intuitive since many news items are specifically to contain references to other information.
Re: News Module Doesn't Handle Links
News module uses same editor as other modules and core.
If you use Internet Explorer 11 try compatibility mode or another browser.

Re: News Module Doesn't Handle Links
A list of news article links would be a nice feature. Perhaps you can build it out and submit it to the community. Or provide your solution to the MicroTiny and TinyMCE admins.
IMHO, The WYSIWYG editor's main goal is to provide common editing tools that are relevant to the CMS as whole and not specific to one or another module. Not everyone uses the News module, but 99% of CMSMS Editors will use pages, and thus we have links in the editor for all pages.
CMSMS is a platform that you the developer can expand and customize for your client (or yourself). Otherwise it would be bloated, overkill, and not as flexible as most developers want.

Re: News Module Doesn't Handle Links
This I don't understand. The WYSIWYG editor is the same all over the backend, isn't it. I just checked and WYSIWYG editor in News allows for adding links.IMHO, The WYSIWYG editor's main goal is to provide common editing tools that are relevant to the CMS as whole and not specific to one or another module. I think this is an browser issue or I don't understand the question/problem.
Re: News Module Doesn't Handle Links
KitchM wants a list of links to all previously submitted news articles provided in the WYSIWYG editor.or I don't understand the question/problem
I'm explaining that imho, it couldn't be a core feature because that is specific to the News module and not everyone uses News.

Re: News Module Doesn't Handle Links
I interpret that as adding a link (targeted anything) to the current article (the one I'am editing now). I think this is what KitchM means. In using the news module, I found that the editor does not allow me to add links to the news artlcle.
However, your interpretation would be good for a feature request!
Re: News Module Doesn't Handle Links
My post must have gotten lost in the ether.
I wanted to interject the idea that I am confused too. It may be that there is a problem with TinyMCE, and not News. Maybe it doesn't work anywhere. I will post elsewhere.
Thanks.
