[FIXED]Getting HTTP Module error message on new install

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[FIXED]Getting HTTP Module error message on new install

Post by elkman »

I am attempting to install a new installation of CMS on my Host Gator server. I have done this multiple times on multiple server accounts without issue. Today I got an error message during installation saying there is an HTTP error due to a firewall, etc. Modules will not be accessed.

I have checked with Host Gator and they haven't changed anything. I have turned everything off on my computer i.e. firewall, anti-everything, etc. I am installing 1.11.9. Does anyone have an idea what this may be? I have searched and found reference to this issue but no solution.

"an HTTP error due to a firewall, etc ..." isn't much of a help. Perhaps you could give us the exact and complete error message instead of etc ...?

Not an anwer but maybe helpful: you can install modules by downloading them from the forge. Extracting them and then copy the module directory (via FTP for example) to your cmsms' /modules directory.

Then go to Extensions -> Modules and click 'install' link for the specific module.

Thanks for checking out the post and workaround suggestion. After attempting the install several times and seeing the same error, I tried it again this morning doing everything exactly the same. Installation worked flawlessly as usual.

I will chalk this up to Internet gods who didn't want me to work yesterday! ;D

Thanks for your desire to assist. Why I love using CMSMS!
