[SOLVED] Trouble installing CGExtensions and CGSmartImage

Post by twwitt »

Hi -
I'm using CMSMS 1.11.9, hosted on Arvixe. No major problems until trying to install the latest versions of CGExtensions and CGSmartImage.

Installation seems to go fine (i.e. it says that they've been installed), but on the Module Page (showing the list of all modules) it shows no Help link and you cannot click on the Module name.

When I open the module from Extensions>Calguys Module Extensions, it seems quite incomplete. Only five tabs are there with no content underneath the tabs. And the help link on the right only leads to info about about parameters but not the full help that one can see in the Module Manager before downloading.

Same problem with CGSmartImage.

I've tried uninstalling and installing again.
I've tried installing via both xml and tar.gz and get the same result.
I tried installing a few other modules (e.g. Album and Gallery) and those worked fine -- seems complete.

Any ideas?

They are utility modules not modules to configure such as news. Read the help for each module.

Yes it does if set up / installed correctly and you have full admin access.

There is no help when you click on help. That's why I think it's not installing correctly.

Oops. 5.2.17. Think that's the problem?
I sort of assumed that since Arvixe automatically loads CMSMS that it'd be 5.3+

Thanks a ton. That was it. Upgraded to php 5.3.27 and everything that was missing suddenly appeared. Marking as solved. Will also contact Arvixe -- seems like if they load CMSMS 1.11.9 for you, they should also have the latest php version as default. Thanks again...

All Calguy's modules for the past few months have required 5.3+

Anyway glad you found the problem.
