I've been using CMS Made Simple for almost 8 years now and this is a perfect match for it. Matter of fact, here is Auction company that uses the Gallery module to show the items being liquidated,

CMSMS will easily be able to provide the functionality for you website. I would strongly advise though that you get a professional to design and code it looking at your current site as if done correctly then in the long term it would make good business sense.
